A Special Place For A Perfect Wedding

Due to Covid-19, we didn't know where the world would be in June so we decided to play it safe and postpone our wedding until next year.  We knew we still wanted to get married on our original date but we didn't know what that wedding would look like.  It started out with just immediate family but expanded to include some extended family and the bridal party once Delaware started loosening the restrictions.  

 
When trying to pick the location, we knew we wanted to keep it outdoors to allow people to properly social distance.  We thought, what better place than where we got engaged (which also happens to be the spot of one of our first dates).  Rockford Tower has become such a meaningful spot in our lives and we knew it would be the perfect backdrop for our wedding.  
 
So 10 days until wedding day; the location was picked and we knew our guest list.  What about a dress and flowers?  Unfortunately, Sam was unable to have her dress fitted due to the Coronavirus and the bridesmaids dresses hadn't come in yet.  A quick pivot had Sam finding the second best wedding dress online and having it rush ordered.  It looked beautiful.  For flowers, we got in contact with a local flower shop who was able to put together a beautiful bouquet, halo, and boutonniere.
 
Then there's the chuppah.  We knew we wanted to get married under a chuppah but had planned on our original florist to provide one.  We quickly went to Etsy and found a simple birch chuppah that we assembled ourselves.  With the help of our fantastic neighbors, we loaded the chuppah onto the back of their pick up truck and headed to the park, very slowly I might add.  We arrived with the chuppah to find all of the groomsmen and we quickly got to work.
 
We wanted to broadcast our wedding on Zoom so that all of our family and friends that could not physically be there could still be a part of our day.  We had my best man working on setting up the computer and microphone while Sam's sister's boyfriend was coordinating the bridal party for the procession.  The rest of the groomsmen were at work positioning the chuppah.  There was also a car battery and inverter involved, but that's a story for a different day.
 
In the end, everything worked out perfectly.  It just goes to show you that nothing can stop true love.  We could not have done this without the love and support from our family and friends.  A year ago when we picked our wedding date, we would never have believed that our wedding would look like this.  I guess you really only need 10 days to plan a wedding.
